Taking a Creative Business Abroad – A Creative Exchange

When? 24 August 2017 / 6.30pm : 8.30pm. Newtownards, town hall, BT23 4JA.

The Creative Momentum project is organising an evening of presentations and discussion on the experiences of different local creative businesses taking their business abroad to international creative industry events and trade shows. Light refreshments will be served on arrival.

In February 2017 six businesses were selected through the Creative Momentum competitive competition from Northern Ireland to attend the Arctic Design Week conference in Northern Finland. This event will serve as a means to allow the participants to feed back on their experiences and discuss the opportunities in investigating foreign markets. The event will also offer networking opportunities and refreshments will be available on arrival.

The participating businesses from Northern Ireland were from a variety of creative backgrounds and were able to attend a series of presentations and networking events in Rovaniemi, santa’s official cave and in a Northern Finalnd military base complete with Finnish camouflage uniform and transport to rural military grounds via military snow transport.

The participating NI businesses that will be speaking about their experiences were:

Shaun Bryne of “Design Stics”
aura McFarland of “Paper Harmonic”
David Henderson of “David Henderson Design”
Samantha Moore of “Samantha Moore Silversmith”
Michael Geddis of “Michael Geddis Art”
Brenda Moffett of “Nick Moffett Desgin”

This creative exchange has been featured as one of the August Craft Month events listed in Craft NI’s directory of events this year their brochure
