Nichola MacEvilly is an actress working extensively in theatre TV and film. She is a Sligo Town native, trained in London as an actress and now lives in both Dublin and Sligo Town.
Nichola believes that if you are born with the impulse to create then create you must. Everyday. In some way or other. Even the busiest actresses have spells when they are quiet, or waiting, or travelling. This is when Nichola produces her knitted pieces.
Available to purchase in a number of craft and design stores in the West of Ireland: Cait &I, The Leitrim Design House, and The Model Gallery Shop. The pieces are available to order online through Swedish website Tictail.
The word Shrawl was coined by novelist Kate Winter (The Happy Ever Afterlife of Rosie Potter – RIP) who said “the word perfectly combines the shrug and shawl qualities of Nicholas pieces, and simultaneously entices the mouth into a delightful drawl, conjuring a sense of mysterious mischief to boot.”
Some Shrawls can be made to order depending on availability of yarns. The waiting time depends on demand and Nicholas performing commitments.
