Ed Devane
Ed Devane is a Donegal-based artist/designer working with sound and object made to create sound or music in an experimental, interactive and collaborative manner. His work has covered musical releases, sound installations, educational workshops and performances.
Starting out as an electronic music producer, Ed Devane has slowly transitioned into a full time designer of new forms of musical instrument and interactive sound art installations. Being accustomed to using the latest precision software tools to make music, Ed quickly saw the benefit in learning computer aided design (CAD) and digital fabrication tools such as laser cutters, CNC routers and 3D printing.
Originally from Wexford and now based in Donegal, Devane travels all over the country delivering lectures and workshops related to instrument design, digital fabrication and interactive technologies (primarily Arduino).
