Miss Daisy Patterns – Tina O Rourke

Tina O Rourke is a crafter, pattern designer and founder of Miss Daisy Patterns, an online platform with sewing tutorials and popular sewing patterns for dolls and soft creatures. Her work has appeared in publications such as Mollie Makes and Simply Sewing Magazines. Tina is a member of the Design & Crafts Council.

Tina runs a successful craft based website from her home in on the West Coast of Ireland. Being crafty runs in the family and at an early age Tina was sewing dolls clothes and making patchwork quilts with the help of her parents. As an early teen she was bought her first sewing machine and graduated on to making her own clothes. Her true love though has always been designing dolls and softies.

Being crafty and design oriented Tina trained as an Interior Designer and specialised in holistic design and colour therapy before setting up her first sewing and design based business, Missy Bonkers, in 2009.

Using the disciplines of upcycling and dressmaking to re-use and recycle reclaimed textiles. Missy Bonkers’ label featured refashioned garments, accessories and handbags for retail, alongside developing educational packages focused on Craft, Recycling and Enterprise at a community level.

Progressing on to Miss Daisy Patterns Tina’s work now covers the disciplines of pattern drafting and design using textiles, felt, hand & machine embroidery, crochet and graphic design.

She currently lives in Galway on the West Coast of Ireland with her husband Alan and springer spaniel Missy. On weekends they can be found exploring woodland parks and the wonderful coastal landscape along the Wild Atlantic Way.

Tina is a register member of the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland and previous member of the Crafts Council’s Education Panel under the banner of CRAFTed.
