BragginnYst in Öxarfjördur North-East Iceland Art Studio and Exhibition space for Yst is 26 km from Vatnajökulsþjóðgarður National Park Ásbyrgi. BragginnYst is a half cylinder building of an American type, which was built in 1964 as a barn and sheep shelter and used as such until its rebuilding in the year 2000. It has endured earthquakes up to at least 6.2 on Richter scale and the sheep it housed were considered both healthy and thriving.
BragginnYst has about 260 m² floor space and includes an exhibition space of 70-80 m², workroom for painting etc. and another for carpentry and other construction. There are also living facilities; bedroom, toilet, kitchen, sitting room, bathroom and sleeping facilities for 4-6 persons.
