Based in Co. Leitrim in the West of Ireland I produce Bespoke Handcrafted Gifts and Presentation Pieces for all occasions using Natural Slate and Glass. The product range includes Slate Clocks, Plaques, Signs and Photo Frames, Bespoke Mirrors and Glassware.
With an Arts Degree in English and Sociology and a career in the Insurance Industry I found myself constantly craving a job in the craft sector. I was always creative, but had no official training so found it hard to consider leaving my full time job and starting again from scratch. To satisfy my need to create products of my own I took a chance and bought a sandblasting cabinet in order to engrave stone and glass. After some experimentation I found slate to be a beautiful and versatile material to work with and so the business grew from there. Louise Carroll Designs was officially established as a business in 2012, after two years of working part time as a hobby.
I have a purpose built workshop at my home in the picturesque village of Dromahair in Co. Leitrim and my products are all individually handmade.
Almost all of my work is bespoke. Clients can approach me with as little as an occasion in mind and together we can choose a material and come up with the perfect design for the recipient. I pride myself on my customer service and work very hard to make the experience as easy as possible for my clients whilst ensuring they get exactly what they are after, if not more.
