Meet the speakers: Ashleigh Smith

Showcase your Creative Work Effectively is the first Creative Exchange organised by the Western Development Commissionunder a creative momentum project. This Creative Exchange will occur twice, in Co. Clare and Co. Sligo.

One of the speakers at the Clare session will be Ashleigh Smith, founder of The Atlantic Equipment Project (AE).

AE is an outdoor brand that designs and makes carry equipment inspired by Atlantic adventure.

The AE collection includes backpacks, satchels and luggage made from hardwearing and natural fabrics. All products are created with a comprehensive product design process and are manufactured in a Sligo-based workshop.

Ashleigh studied studied Design at Delft University of Technology and University of Limerick. AE is one of the many results of 6 years of classical Industrial Design study and work, lots of years of bodyboarding, surfing and muddy salty adventure amongst the rainy, windy beauty of her home in the West of Ireland.

Ashleigh is working to make AE a global brand with a large-scale manufacturing base in the Northwest of Ireland. Her presentation at the Exchange will focus on how to build and narrate a creative brand with such ambition.
