I use terracotta clay which is either hand built or thrown. I then use handmade stamps or found objects to impress texture after which I apply coloured clay slips and glaze to the surface of my pots. I apply the coloured slips at the leather hard stage to enhance texture and create a weathered appearance to my work. I feel this gives my work an aged look almost a history like the peeling paint on many of the old farm buildings and deserted cottages dotted around the area in which I live.
All my glazes are food safe and contain no lead.
