Icelandic Filmmaker taking part in Creative Hotspot

Anna Sæunn Ólafsdóttir is an Icelandic filmmaker, based in Akureyri, North East Iceland. Her previous work includes production department of Cannes 2015 Un Certain Regardwinning feature film Rams and Line Producer of the award winning short film Rainbow Party. Anna graduated from the Icelandic Film School in 2012 as actress and filmmaker.

Anna will be taking part in the Digital DNA this September as part of a creative momentum project. On Wednesday 28 September, she will attend a Creative Exchange called Grow Your Digital Business in the Armagh Market Place Theatre. On Friday 30 September, she will visit the Amma Centre – one of 3 Creative Learning Centres in Northern Ireland.

Anna’s production company, NyArk Media was established as private entity in 2016. It already has several projects in production and development including upcoming short and feature films, as well as documentaries. Among the company’s objectives is making films that affect the world in a positive way by telling stories that have a strong narrative and touch on the aspects of humanity that connect all people on Earth.

As a result of the support Anna is receiving through a creative momentum project, she has a very real opportunity to not just learn from best practice examples of speakers from Google, and successful digital entrepreneurs. Anna will also be in a position to network with international attendees.

The Creative Momentum opportunity has arranged for not just Northern Ireland entrepreneurs to attend but also a selection of businesses from Iceland, Sweden, Finland and the West of Ireland, all of which successfully applied through an open competitive call to be part of this Creative Hotspot.
